Every year, WDIV-Channel 4 has a “Vote 4 the Best Contest” in which thousands of businesses compete to be known as the best in their category. This year, Rondo String Quartet, an Oakland County and metro area group, was nominated by Channel 4 viewers as the Best in Music.

Big city celebration this Saturday

The city of Rowlett invites residents to join friends and neighbors for “Celebrate Rowlett.” The event is a community picnic in downtown Rowlett from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 7 to celebrate being ranked as No. 24 on the Best Places to Live in the U.S. list by Money Magazine.
